Abstract
A description is given of a proposed new particle detector capable of measuring dE/dx and residual energy values of energetic heavy mass cosmic ray nuclei (Z>26) with energies as low as 1 MeV/nucleon, a region of information not accessible by other known means. The unique advantages of this detector assembly as it is envisaged for space flight experiments are listed. Keywords
