ALTERATIONS IN RESPONSE TO SOMATIC PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH ANAESTHESIA

Abstract
Analgesimetry readings failed to reveal an increase in pain threshold readings following the inhalation of subnarcotic concentrations (0.25 to 0.5 per cent) of methoxyflnrane. There may be a connection between the lack of analgesia and the absence of an increase in circulating catechol amines during methoxyflurane anaesthesia.
