Following 3H 5-HT administration, differences were demonstrated in the uptake of the substance by the mast cells of the thyroid gland, thymus, intestine, and subcutaneous connective tissue. The interfollicular mast cells of the thyroid gland were extensively labelled, while the same cells in the other organs remained unlabelled.
