Abstract
A pencil is described which closes a circuit when the lead is in contact with the writing surface. Its advantages over previous devices lie in simplicity, cost and reliability; it leaves a normal pencil trace on ordinary paper; and due to its novel mode of action, the movement of the writing element is extremely small, comparable with normal writing instruments. Keywords
