Abstract
A KalmanfiIter is designed to determine the number of components in multicomponentmixtures. Spectra of different mixtures are simulated and processed sequentially in the Kalmanfilter. It is shown that the number of components present in the sample as well as their concentrations can be determined simultaneously. Moreover, the proposed method is attractive from a computational point of view. Keywords
