Abstract
Recent investigations, still being continued at Westinghouse, seem to indicate that careful observation of the detection theory, of the definition of digital systems, of the size of the signaling alphabet, and of the conversion process from low-pass signals to band-pass (carrier) signals may be extremely helpful for faster progress in applying information theory to digital communication systems. Keywords
