Abstract
Previous observations with p32 in the study of urinary excretion of P indicate that exogenous phosphate is handled differently from endogenous phosphate by the kidney. The injected phosphate, in a pure inorganic form, is excreted by the kidney at much higher speed than normal plasma phosphate. In the present studies radioactive Ca45, with a half life of 180 days, was used. Measurements show that exogenous Ca, unlike phosphate, is excreted by the kidney at the same rate as endogenous Ca of the plasma.
