Abstract
BLADDER distention has not previously been reported as a cause of iliac-vein obstruction in the adult. On the other hand, a variety of pelvic conditions, such as inflammation, benign and malignant tumors and the gravid and fibroid uterus,1 2 3 4 have been cited as responsible for iliac-vein obstruction and, in many cases, leg edema. It may be that the bladder does not readily come to mind as a cause of such compression because it is anteriorly extraperitoneal and is considered to be a relatively yielding structure remote from the retroperitoneal iliac veins.An adult male, who was admitted to Bellevue Hospital, had . . .Keywords
