Black Dot Tinea Capitis Caused by Trichophyton Rubrum

Abstract
An unusual case of tinea capitis due to Trichophyton rubrum in an adult woman is described. The scalp showed typical "black dot" ringworm; microscopically, a large-spore endothrix fungus was seen. The scalp lesions responded rapidly to griseofulvin.
