Abstract
A simple technique is described, with the help of which many micro-organisms have been grown in culture for the first time or more successfully than has hitherto been possible. It consists in using culture vessels containing soil, sometimes with the addition of nutritive substances, and water, and heated so as to destroy most of the germs present. Isolated cells, coenobia or filaments are inoculated and in general multiply more healthily and vigorously than in the cultural media hitherto employed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
