Abstract
By an examination of the Ward-Takahashi identities and the Dyson-Schwinger equations we are able to establish a causal connection in QCD between the Nambu-Goldstone realization of chiral symmetry and quark confinement. We show that the broken-chiral-symmetry solution leads to a propagator which is an entire function. This is a nonperturbative result driven solely by the instantons. Many remarkable implications of this solution are described. Keywords
