Abstract
A method of measuring the total illuminance of an optical system is described. Measurements made on a real system show good correlation between theoretical and experimental data. It has been found that experimental measurements of this kind easily reveal the degree of color correction in the axial image and can quantitatively give a measure of lens system performance in terms of total illuminance. Keywords
