Abstract
To the editor: The importance of campylobacter enteritis as a diarrheal illness has been underscored by Blaser and colleagues (1) in the August 1979 issue. During the past year we have seen 16 adult patients with proven Campylobacter fetus subspecies (ssp.) jejuni enteritis, and we would like to offer some additional comments about this illness. The clinical features of our cases in Toronto, some of which have been previously reported (2), are identical to those in the Denver study. We have been struck by the frequency with which blood and pus appear in the stool rather late in the courseKeywords
