Abstract
During 6 yr, 7555 bovine sera, 421 canine sera, 251 porcine sera and 135 equine sera were tested for agglutinins to Leptospira interrogans serotypes L. canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, L. pomona and L. sejroe. The bovine sera reacted predominantly with L. hardjo and/or L. sejroe at a rate of 15%, compared to 3.5% with L. pomona. Breeding or abortion problems were associated with L. pomona but not with L. sejroe/L. hardjo agglutinins. The canine sera reacted to L. canicola (9.9%) and L. icterohaemorrhagiae (5.4%), the porcine sera reacted to L. pomona (3.2%), and the equine sera reacted predominantly with L. canicola (8.9%) and L. icterohaemorrhagiae (8.1%).
