Abstract
A thermophilic spore-forming bacterium was isolated from sediment of a shallow hydrothermal vent at Vulcano Island (Italy). After phenotypic and molecular analyses, it was identified as a novel Bacillus species, for which the name Bacillus vulcani is proposed. The type strain is strain 3s-1T (= DSM 13174T = CIP 106305T).Keywords
