Abstract
In order to study the reactions leading to glucopyranose 1,2-O-orthoacetate units attached to a polymer support, methyl 2,3,4-tri-O-benzoyl-6-O-(p-vinylbenzoyl)-α-D-glucopyranoside, 1,2,3,4-tetra-O-acetyl-6-O-(p-vinylbenzoyl)-β-D-glucopyranose, 2,3,4-tri-O-acetyl-6-O-(p-vinylbenzoyl)-β-D-glucopyranosyl chloride, and 2,3,4-tri-O-acetyl-6-O-(p-vinylbenzoyl)-α-D-glucopyranosyl bromide were prepared, as well as their polymers and copolymers with styrene. The reactivity ratios of co-monomers were determined. Specific rotation measurements were used for the determination of the compositions of copolymers and to follow their chemical conversions. Keywords
