Abstract
An elastoplastic strain-hardening solid with a singular yield surface in a quasi-static state of small deformation is considered. A new general variational theorem is established for the boundary value-rate problem. Iterative methods of solutions (as “initial stress” and “initial strain” procedures) are examined in the light of the proposed variational principles. Keywords
