Abstract

Bis(carboxycyclopentadienyl) cobalt Co(C₅H₄CO₂H)₂ ⁺(1) and the cobalt(III) sepulchrate Co(sep)^3– 9(2) produce hydrogen from water after single elecron reduction in an electrochemical process, and act as electron relays in photochemical hydrogen generating systems.
