Abstract
A prospective randomized single blind trial was performed of 102 patients undergoing carpal tunnel release. Patients received either a palmar plaster of Paris splint or a bulky wool and crepe bandage postoperatively for the first 48 h, to determine whether the plaster slab reduced postoperative pain. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in postoperative pain scores or analgesic use. Keywords
