Abstract
Based on positivist criteria, case studies would be unscientific, since they are frequently qualitative, ungeneralizable, and nonreplicable. However, the philosophy of science has disavowed positivism and embraced new criteria for what constitutes science. This paper examines the latter's consequences for how to conduct case studies of organizations. Keywords
