ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEUROMERES TO MIGRATION AREAS IN THE VERTEBRATE CEREBRAL TUBE

Abstract
Embryos from Petromyzon, Torpedo, Lepidochelys and Homo were studied. Stages were chosen where neuromeres still remain and migration areas have begun to develop. A close resemblance between the areas and the neuromeres was found in the rhombencephalon as well as in the parts rostral thereto. The comparable details are explained by the hypothesis that the proliferation pattern, being the basis of the neuromeres, and the pattern, being the basis of the migration areas, are identical.
