Abstract
This article compares the legal theory of sexual harassment with the therapeutic theory of sexual addiction in order to determine whether and to what extent the two correlate. The literature and some cases are reviewed and compared to the 11 types of sexual addiction identified by Carnes. A high degree of similarity seems evident, and it seems clear that sexual addiction is a large component of sexual harassment. The implication is that only by understanding and treating sexual addiction can sexual harassment be successfully addressed.
