Abstract
The upper Jurassic history of the vicinity of Macinaggio, northeastern Corsica (France), differed from that of the Saint-Florent basin of northwestern Corsica in that sedimentation was continuous in the latter, whereas the Macinaggio region was a zone of emergence during the Dogger and Malm. Thrusting of sedimentary formations of the Macinaggio region over the Schistes lustres formation was toward the south. Metamorphism of the Schistes lustres is considered to have taken place before the end of the Cretaceous.
