Abstract
The method of resistance used by the cynipid wasp Pseudeucoila bochei to counteract the defence reactions of its hosts, maggots of Drosophila melanogaster , is believed to suppress their haemocytic reaction as a whole. An experiment is described which shows that the resistance of the ichneumon wasp Nemeritis canescens to the cellular defence reactions of caterpillars of Ephestia kuehniella does not involve general inhibition of their haemocytic reaction. Keywords
