Abstract
Salinomycin at 25 or 50 ppm improved (P < 0.01) growth rate to 90 kg compared to control animals; pigs fed 22 ppm tylosin were intermediate in growth rate which was not significantly different from that of the other groups. Salinomycin, irrespective of inclusion level, resulted in an (P < 0.01) improvement in feed/gain compared to control and tylosin-treated pigs. At 25 ppm, salinomycon resulted in reduced carcass backfat (P < 0.05) compared to the tylosin and salinomycin 50 ppm treatments. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
