Abstract
Methods of determining the effective radiation area for direct solar radiation have been compared. It was shown that the ratio of effective area to total surface area is directly proportional to the cosine of solar altitude for all the methods considered. The photographic method of Underwood and Ward (1961) and the shadow method of Chrenko and Pugh (1961) gave lower values than those obtained from the cylinders of Taylor (1956) and the models of Tredre (1965).This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
