Abstract
A tryptophan auxotroph of S. cerevisiae, which accumulates anthranilic acid, produces chorismic acid in the presence of 6-diazo-5-oxonorleucine. A phe, tyr- mutant of S. cerevisiae also releases chorismic acid into the medium upon the addition of 6-diazo-5-oxonorleucine. Al-buizziin(2-amino-3-ureidopropionic acid) exerts the same action. In the presence of 6-diazo-5-oxonorleucine, the wild strains of S. cerevisiae and Escherichai coll release 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and phenylpyruvic acid into the medium. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
