Abstract
Under the phase contrast microscope (PCM), coagulation of the hemolymph in several groups of Insects selectively takes place around a category of hemocytes : the coagulocytes (Grégoire & Florkin, 1950; Grégoire, 1951, 1955a, 1970, 1971 & 1974), or cystocytes (Jones, 1954). In contrast with the other categories of hemocytes, which are passively embedded in the plasma reaction, the coagulocytes are highly sensitive to solid surfaces and to physical interïaces. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
