Abstract
The Triassic coral genus Thecosmilia includes different forms. The structure of the radial elements as well as the position of the wall and endotheca are fundamental criteria for distinguishing these forms. On the basis of these elements, three new genera are described: Volzeia, Distichophyllum, Retiophyllia. This study shows that the Triassic fauna is more diversified than was originally apparent.
