Abstract
A method of obtaining revised scatter-maximum ratios (SMRs) for 10 MV X-rays without electron contamination is described. The method is based on the Khan concept. The revised SMR can express the ratio of the scatter dose at a given point in a phantom to the primary dose at the same point at the depth where the primary dose (or zero-area tissue-maximum ratio (TMR)) is maximum. A table of revised SMRs up to a radius of 32.5 cm is given. A functional equation of the 10 MV X-ray zero-area TMR is also given. Both revised SMRs and zero-area TMRs are expressed in connection with the incident water collision kerma. Keywords
