Abstract
The question of acute and chronic heart strain is analyzed. The evidence for the former is considered sufficient to warrant its use, but this is not true for chronic heart strain which should therefore not be used to denote "physiological disability" due to "severe muscular effort over a long period of time." "Athletes'' heart" is considered to be non-existent.Keywords
