Abstract
Equations analogous to those derived for the elastic moduli and conductivity of composite materials are proposed for calculating the permittivity (dielectric constant) of two-phase systems, including metals dispersed in dielectric media. The equations not only take into account the permittivity of the pure components and their concentration but also the shape of the dispersed particles and the manner in which they pack. Agreement between experiment and theory generally appears to be very good. Keywords
