Electrostriction in various ferroelectric ceramics with diffuse phase transition

Abstract
Electrostrictive strain S i of ceramics with diffuse FE phase transition can be described as S i = ME ij + M ijj E j 4 + M ijjj E j 6 + … Coefficients M ij , M ijj and M ijjj pass through an extremum when the temperature T changes. Maximum of M(T) is observed at lower T than the maximum of ε2(T) but at higher T than maximum of the polarization. This fact is explained by behavior of polar regions. Some merit characteristics of various ceramics are given.
