Abstract
In 13 patients, a distinctive atypical polypoid endocervical hyperplasia was found which was not previously recognized. Such lesions have been observed with increasing frequency during the past 2 years and are sufficiently disturbing histologically to raise the question of carcinoma. This variety of hyperplasia was found only in women taking oral progestins, usually for contraception. The available data point to a benign interpretation. These lesions may be coincident to use of oral progestins, but the association is striking and requires experimental evaluation of a possible relationship. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
