Cholesterol Esterification by Adrenal Homogenates.

Abstract
Summary Cholesterol-esterifying activity was demonstrated in homogenates of rat, rabbit and guinea pig adrenals. Cholesterol-esterifying activity was found to be deficient in homogenates of bovine adrenal tissue. This suggests that the amount of cholesterol esters in the adrenal gland is dependent on the level of cholesterol-esterifying activity in the gland, rather than on blood levels of cholesterol, free or esterified.
