Abstract
The local density of states and the magnetic moment of an Anderson impurity in a linear chain are studied by means of a recurrence technique, applied to the first- and second-order Green functions. This approach enables to obtain an exact solution of the « scattering correction » of the alloy analogy for the one impurity case. Both local and nearest neighbour hybridization are studied, and the results are compared with those obtained using other approximationsKeywords
