Spontaneous Recovery from Aphasia

Abstract
The language and intellectual functions of 11 “recent” aphasics were investigated. Spontaneous recovery was evident in both functions. Although the severity of the subjects' aphasia lessened spontaneously, the basic form of the language disturbance remained essentially the same throughout the testing period. The first month post-onset appeared to be the most significant period for spontaneous recovery of language functions.
