Abstract
To the Editor: Membranous nephropathy is believed to be an immune-complex disease.1 However, in only a few instances have an antigen and the corresponding antibody been observed in the lesions. We describe a case of membranous nephropathy associated with hydatid disease in which the parasitic antigen and corresponding antibody were found in glomeruli.A 38-year-old North African woman was admitted to the hospital because of a nephrotic syndrome of one month's duration. Serum albumin was 26 g per liter, proteinuria was 3.4 g per 24 hours, and renal function was normal. Histologic examination of a kidney-biopsy specimen gave a diagnosis . . .Keywords
