Abstract
Parallel with chemical investigations on aluminosiloxane compounds carried out in our laboratories, the crystal structure of a compound of formula C8H24Al3Br5O6Si4 has been determined by three-dimensional X-ray analysis. The crystals are monoclinic, space-group P21/n, a= 11·22, b= 13·48, c= 18·76 Å; β= 93° 52′; Z= 4. The molecule is formed of four condensed rings. An aluminium atom, common to the four rings, shows unusual five-co-ordination.
