The speed difference between an S=0 and S=1 bubble in the presence of an in-plane magnetic field

Abstract
Using the bubble translation technique, we have measured the speed as a function of drive field of an S=0 and an S=1 bubble in the presence of an in‐plane magnetic field. The speed of both states increases with the application of an in‐plane field, but the increase for an S=1 bubble is much less that the increase for an S=0 bubble. For a given in‐plane field, the ratio of the speed for an S=0 bubble to that of an S=1 bubble increases with increasing gradient field. For a given drive field, this ratio increases linearly with increasing in‐plane field. This effect can be observed in either as‐grown or ion‐implanted bubble films. Although the deflection angle of an S=0 and an S=1/2 bubble are different, they have essentially the same speed.
