Abstract
In an assessment of the relative importance of certain objectives for the teaching of science in primary schools, a high correlation was found between the views of a sample of experienced teachers and those of a sample of student teachers. The relative importance of the objectives, as judged by the rank order of the selections, is discussed in the light of recent developments in the teaching of science at primary school level. Keywords
