Abstract
Experiments on rats, with use of cocaine-induced convulsions as the test situation, show that some benzodiazepine derivatives are highly effective in protecting the animals against cocaine-induced seizures. Quantitative analysis of resting electro-encephographic activity in cats supports a working hypothesis proposing a localized effect of cocaine and its antagonists upon limbic structures, notably the amygdaloid complex. Keywords
