Abstract
A method has been designed to assess the lateral mobility of the knee joint and to measure the extensibility of the ligaments. Normal adolescents have more mobile joints than adults. This differential mobility disappeared after 20 yrs. of age. Patients with clinical involvement of the knees with ankylosing spondylitis had stable joints. Patients with psoriatic arthritis lie somewhere between the stable spondylitics and the unstable rheumatoid arthritics. Keywords
