Asymmetry parameters for near-threshold photo-double ionization of helium

Abstract
The asymmetry parameters for photo-double ionization of helium up to 2 eV above threshold have been measured using a coincidence photoelectron spectrometer and synchrotron radiation. The observations were made for the extreme case of unequal energy partitioning between the two photoelectrons wherein one electron has near-zero energy and the other carries off all the excess energy. The measurements show that, even in this special case, electron correlation still plays a dominant role.
