Subarachnoid Methylprednisolone For Relief of Sciatic Pain Secondary to Space-Occupying Lesion

Abstract
Intrathecal injection of methylprednisolone in a 47-year-old man suffering intractable pain due to a space-occupying lesion was found to give effective analgesia during the 17 days between administration of the corticosteroid and death of the patient. This modality is suggested as a possible alternative to surgical intervention and to chemical neurolysis in the therapy of sciatic pain presumed to be of malignant etiology.
