Abstract
The design of an electromagnetic survey meter is discussed together with an analysis of the errors associated with near-field measurements. The meter provides accurate measurements of near-field radiation emanating from leaking microwave power devices at 915 and 2450 MHz such as consumer ovens and industrial heating devices. Measurements are not subject to polarization of the incident wave, ambient temperature, or infrared radiation. Fail-safe indications are provided in the event of damage to the sensor. The range of measurements is from 10 μW/cm2 to 200 mW/cm2.Keywords
