Abstract
Antigenicities of Sporothrix schenckii and four Ceratocystis species were compared on the cellmediated immune response. Crude polysaccharide antigens were prepared from the culture filtrates of C. stenoceras, C. minor, C. ulmi, C. ips and S. schenckii. They were used as antigens in both skin test and macrophage migration inhibition test. These tests were performed with the guinea pigs sensitized with killed cells of S. schenckii. Additionally nine patients with sporotrichosis were skin-tested with these antigens. The results indicated that some Ceratocystis species such as C. stenoceras or C. minor were closely related to S. schenckii, although not identical with it.Keywords
