Abstract
During the past fifteen years, attention has been drawn to the difficulties experienced by the families of mentally-handicapped children. Early studies showed that a mentally handicapped child in the home constituted a severe burden for other members of the family, particularly the mother (Tizard and Grad, 1961; Holt, 1957; Schonell and Watts, 1957).Keywords
