Abstract
The aperture size and coherent integration time that can be employed in a ground-based optical interferometer are determined by atmospheric perturbations to the optical phase, thus limiting the sensitivity achievable. An accurate simulation of these perturbations according to current theoretical models has been developed and is used here to find the optimum aperture size and exposure time for observation of faint objects. Keywords
