Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A seventy-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of weight loss, hemoptysis and pain in the chest.X-ray films of the chest revealed a mass, 8.5 cm in greatest diameter, in the left-middle-lung field. An intravenous pyelographic study disclosed minimal blunting of the minor calyxes; there was incomplete emptying of the bladder, and the floor of the bladder was elevated. Digoxin was administered. A left pneumonectomy disclosed a squamous-cell carcinoma and a tumor thrombus in the artery to the lingula; the 8 lymph nodes removed and the resection margins were free of tumor. Second . . .
